Thread the Needle Thursday

Thread the Needle Thursday @ Bair Homestead
I've decided to spend Thursdays sharing about what needlework I'm currently working on.  I have many needlecraft interests, so there may be a variety of current projects.  More than likely there will be at least one sewing project, plus some knitting and/or cross-stitch or whatever other item has my current attention.

This week I'm knitting some Christmas socks.  I can't say who they are for, but I think he will like them.

Keith's socks

I'm currently caught up with my custom sewing for clients, so it's time to get some sewing done for the family.  I've been losing weight and it's time for some new clothes for Momma.  I've had this piece of featherweight corduroy for a year or two.  I fell in love with it when I saw it and have had it in my stash just crying out to become a dress for me.  I have my pattern pieces just about ready to lay them out and cut out my new dress.  Yay!

Rose Corduroy

Isn't it pretty?

What are you working on this week?  If there is enough interest, I'm thinking of making a button and adding a Mr. Linky so we can all see what everyone is making.  What do you think?

Love the socks ;0) Is the yarn from Lily sugar n cream? It looks like the same yarn I used to do the tote bag I posted a picture of the other day. If amazing how using it differently can make it look so different.

    Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, Sandy - I'm having fun (most of the time!) knitting these socks. I'm using Soles & More yarn by Sensations. I bought it at JoAnn Fabrics. It is a patterned yarn, so it makes stripes and designs as you knit the socks.

  3. Don't you just love that self stripe / self pattern yarn?

It turns out so pretty ! Your socks look awesome!

Hello there. Your socks and fabric photos won't come through for me but I am sure they are lovely.

I thought I would send you a quick post of some of my projects that are on the go here.

I am knitting some baby bootees and some children's snowman mittens. Crocheting an afghan, sewing shirts, and have some fabric for our little grandsons to start on their Christmas shirts or pants. Older ones will get shirts and younger boys will get pants. It is a forest type camouflage print in a heavier brushed cotton. We have nine grandsons so I will be hopping to get this all done by Christmas. The knitting etc. can be done whenever I get it done. LOL

Happy sewing, knitting or needling of whatever sort!

I'm sorry the pictures aren't showing for you. It's strange, the fabric one didn't load for me at first today but when I refreshed the page it showed up. The images are hosted through homesteadblogger, maybe there was an issue with the images earlier? Anyway, I hope you can see the pictures next time you visit. :o)

It sounds like you are a very busy woman! My boys would love the camouflage in anything, I'm sure your grandsons will like what you make for them, too. I have quite a bit of flannel here to make PJ pants for all the kids for Christmas plus I have two more pair of socks to knit for the boys for their gifts. I'll be busy here right along with you! :o) I'd love to see pics of your projects.

I love your title and pictures. You must be a very talented person. I am new at blogging but hope to be able to personalize my blog soon. I love sewing and needlework also. It is so rewarding to see the finished product.
